Career Counselling

Career Planning is a process of making thoughtful choices about the future based on personal goals, interests, capabilities, circumstances and personal and family aspirations. The vision of Counseling and Guidance at The University of Modern Sciences (TUMS) is to see each student develop the confidence, professionalism, and skills required to kick-start their career and pursue their desired career objectives, be it for a job, graduate school or an entrepreneurial venture.

Counseling and guidance at The University of Modern Sciences (TUMS) helps students in finding the answers to their career questions, and helps them reflect, do the necessary research, and plan accordingly for their future. OCS engages students for guidance and counseling through following ways:

One-on-one Counseling (with prior appointment)

Students can sign up for one-on-one counselling by making an appointment with a career counselor. During one-on-one sessions students can discuss career options based on their field of interest, and counselors can gather essential data using various tools to help students reflect on their skills and passion. Counselors also guide students to explore further, reflecting on key areas as they begin to decide about their future.

Drop-in Advising Students can also drop by the Office of Career Services for a session with a member of the Careers Services team.

Group Counseling Sessions

Students with similar career aspirations or queries are encouraged to schedule a group counseling session with the career counselors.
